Leonardo Commits to Funding a Clean Water Well in Kenya
Pleasant Grove, UTAH – November 19, 2012 –People Water, a leading provider of ecofriendly products providing clean water to thousands of people globally, today announced that it is joining an exhibit at the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City entitled, “Water: Nature’s Driving Force.” People Water will host a black tie gala on November 29th where co-founder Cody Barker will speak about the company’s efforts to bring clean water to those in need around the world.
The exhibit showcases a series of black and white photographs from Australian photographer Paul Blackmore and communicates how water unites all of humanity through necessity, play and ritual. It also includes displays and installations by People Water about the scale of the world water crisis and depicts how the global community can affect it through simple commitments. The exhibit will run through January 23, 2013.
People Water provides premium bottled water, then uses a portion of its profits to build clean water wells in third world countries. To demonstrate its commitment to ending the world water crisis, the Leonardo has committed to funding a clean water well in Kenya from the proceeds of this event. Patrons can donate by participating in a silent auction at the event and via the Leonardo’s website.
"Teaming up with the Leonardo Museum to raise awareness of the Water Crisis is a project that we have been working on for a while,” said Ken Bretschneider, CEO of People Water. “With the opening of the Water exhibit, we feel it's the perfect fit to combine our efforts in making a difference in the world both locally as well as globally. Raising money to fund a Leonardo Well will literally help thousands of people get access to clean drinking water. After all, we are not asking you to change anything except the world."
"The Water exhibit at the Leonardo has touched our company because we know water is life,” said Cody Barker, Co-founder and Chief Water Giver at People Water. “Just bringing a highlight to water in general, you can see how it changes lives. Water affects every part of our lives; our bodies are 70 percent water. When people see this exhibit, it brings awareness to how vital water is to every individual and it is not as easily accessible as we think. We are so fortunate to have a partnership with the Leonardo; their culture is so similar to ours. They have the science and the arts to their museum; People Water has a product which allows us to help bring clean water to so many people."
